Rules & how we calculate

Draw and seeding, the penalty, the timing report, release windows and what is never changed automatically.

The rules behind the numbers. Where a rule is FIS's, the FIS text is quoted with its article number.

  1. The green tickThe green tick on a competitor's row is the roll call: only green-ticked racers are drawn and counted.
  2. Draw and seedingThe FIS and ANC articles behind the draw, quoted word for word, and what Race Bureau does and does not do by itself.
  3. Release and protest windowsA release from the desk opens no clock; a 15-minute protest window is set per document when an admin posts it from the phone, and a lodged protest holds the document until it is resolved.
  4. Timing reportThe FIS Timing and Data Technical Report: what it holds, where every line comes from, and the FIS format it is sent in.
  5. Penalty calculationHow the race penalty is worked out, step by step, under the FIS Alpine Points rules, art. 4.4.
  6. UnitsTimes are truncated, never rounded; speeds and lengths show in the account's units.
  7. What is never changed automaticallyThe desk marks problems; it does not fix them for you.
