Timing Desk
The desk, its traffic light, timing devices, hand times and run 2.
The Timing Desk is where the race is timed. Race Bureau reads your timing device; it never changes a time on its own. Start with Timing devices, from the box to the desk and Run 2, from the last Run 1 finish to the results.
- Timing devices, from the box to the deskThe four ways an FDS T-Box connects, Sync all, the test press, the light, how an impulse reaches a bib, a second window, what a dropped connection costs, and importing a run.
- Run 2, from the last Run 1 finish to the resultsFinish Run 1 clean, prepare Run 2 from its ranking, time it on its own desk, read the results per run and for the event, release.
- Timing Desk overviewStep 6: the desk that times the race, its devices, its data and what it never does for you.
- Timing devicesThe devices the desk reads: one row per device, its make and connection, its status, Test and Sync all.
- Connect an FDS T-BoxThe four ways a T-Box reaches the desk: straight into the computer by USB in Chrome, through the timing box, over the box's own Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
- Timing DeskThe timing window: the start queue, the impulses, the finish, the ranking, and the bar that runs them.
- The traffic lightRed, yellow and green: whether the desk is storing what the timing device sends, and whether it gives each impulse a bib.
- Status buttonsDNS, DNF, DSQ, DQP, NPS, Clear, Re-run and Missed impulse: what each does and when it is allowed.
- Modify data and hand timeModify data edits one bib's time, penalty, status, gate and reason; its calculator is the only way a hand time gets in.
- Data ManagementThe run's ranking with its counters and statuses, the timing checks, and the un-processed racers.
- Manage Start ListsThe desk's start list per run: the order, a bib typed in, a line inserted, and the Options menu that prepares a list.
- Run 2Prepare the run 2 start list from the ranking of run 1 (best 30 reversed, then the rest), then time run 2 on the desk.
- Timing windowsTiming 2 is a full second desk with its own device and its own light: a System B, a wireless backup or an intermediate spot.
- Simple layoutTiming Layout 2: the same desk on five tabs, built for an iPad or a phone, with the Inter, On course and Ranking areas.
- SettingsThe desk's own settings on this computer: display, intermediates and speed traps, software lock times, timing checks.
- Import a runBring a run's times from another event of your club into this race, bib by bib.
- OfflineWhat keeps working on the hill without internet, and how the desk catches up when it is back.
- Race on this devicePut the race on this computer or iPad so the Timing app can time it with no internet.
- Backups and USB exportOne file with the race as this device holds it, written to a folder after every update or copied to a USB stick.
- Delete selected…Delete the impulses, times and desk statuses of the competitors a filter picks; everyone else stays.
- Delete all timing data…Put the race's timing desk back to its clean original state for the chosen runs.
