Timing 2 is a full second desk with its own device and its own light: a System B, a wireless backup or an intermediate spot.

What it's for

One race can have more than one timing window. Timing 1 is the race's desk. + add on the window bar adds Timing 2 (and more): a second desk identical to the first in layout and function, with its own timing device and its own light, for a different job — a second system (System B), a Wireless backup, or an Intermediate spot. The two windows are independent: Timing 1 and Timing 2 each collect only while their own light is green, and a device belongs to one window.

A window declared System B is Race Bureau's own System B. Its title bar shows whether it is attached and receiving, Informations counts B recorded n/m, Edit ▸ Compare with System A… sets its times beside the main desk's, and Compute a missing time reads its times as the backup.

Before you start

  • A second timing device connected (see Timing devices). Only connected units are offered to a window.

Steps

  1. On the window bar press + add.
  2. In Add a window fill in the Name (leave blank to use the name of the device attached), tick its Timing devices (only connected units are listed), pick a Colour, and choose the Job: Official timing window, This window is System B — a mirror of System A on another timing device, Wireless backup — collects the backup system's wireless transmissions, or Intermediate — one intermediate timing spot (then pick which intermediate under Times).
  3. Press Add window. The new window's tab appears beside Timing 1.
  4. Choose how the windows sit with the arrangement switch: One at a time (tabs) or Side by side.
  5. Open the race on the new window's own light. Right-click a tab (or press and hold) to open that window's setup again; an added window can be deleted from there.

What success looks like

Each window's tab shows its name, each has its own device and its own green light, and an impulse from the second device appears on the second window only.

If something goes wrong

  • No timing device assigned yet — open the window's Settings to choose one: the window has no device ticked.
  • X is also set on Timing 1 and Timing 2. Give each window its own timing device.: untick the device on one of them.
  • The Job is remembered but changes nothing yet: what a window does with its data beyond timing is planned; today the choice is kept and the window times its device.
  • Delete all timing data on an added window clears that window only; the start list, which every window shares, stays.
