Run 2
Prepare the run 2 start list from the ranking of run 1 (best 30 reversed, then the rest), then time run 2 on the desk.
What it's for
Run 2 has its own start list and its own desk. The list is prepared from run 1's ranking with Prepare from ranking of another run: the defaults follow the FIS rules — the best 30 of run 1 reversed (Bibo 30), then the rest in order of their time. Nothing can be prepared until run 1 is finished: every racer on the run 1 list has a time or a status.
Before you start
- Run 1 finished. The option is greyed with Run 1 is not finished yet — N still to start or on course until then.
- Not processed at 0 in Data Management.
Steps
- Open Timing Desk › Manage Start Lists, choose Run 2 under RUN, and press Options ▾ › Prepare from ranking of another run. In Run selection pick Run 1 and press OK.
Selection on the left, Options on the right - Read Selection: Classified (ranked in run 1), Selected (how many go into run 2) and Not racing with the reason for each excluded racer. A Filter runs the rule inside each group of a draw rule.
- Set Selected (60 at an ANC race, every classified racer elsewhere) and Bibo (30; tick All to reverse everyone). If the Jury decided to reverse 15, type 15.
- Choose who gets a second run: Ranked in run 1 (FIS) or Everyone — ranked or not, also DNS and racers only in run 2 (kids' and club races).
- Leave Add to the next ticked so the list becomes run 2's start list. Reversing the order flips the whole list.
- Press Add, then OK on the Start List dialog.
- On the desk, press › beside Run 1 so the header reads Run 2, and open the race with the light. The light is per run: run 1's green does not carry over.
What success looks like
The Start List dialog lists run 2 in the new order, the desk's Start area shows the same order with NEXT TO START on the 30th of run 1, and the run 2 counts count the racers on that list.
If something goes wrong
- The option is greyed: run 1 has racers with no time and no status. Give them a time or a status (DNS, DNF, DSQ) first.
- A racer is missing from run 2: they are under Not racing with the reason (DNS, DNF, DSQ or NPS in run 1), or outside Selected. Choose Everyone or raise Selected.
- Re-opening the dialog shows the options that were used, not the defaults; that is the record.
- On a race timed with external timing software, that software's run 2 list wins while its frame supplies one.
