The event, from create to archive
One event, its race days and its races, walked through the seven steps: what each step needs from the one before and what it unlocks for the next.

What it's for
Race Bureau runs events. An event is the unit you create, set up, crew, enter, archive; its race days hold the races, and the draw, the timing and the results happen per race. Every screen in the workspace works on the Active race of the open event, so the order below is the order the rail reads, top to bottom. Each step has its own pages with the exact clicks.
Two things frame the whole chain:
- The Events window — the event switcher at the top of the side menu (No event open · My events until you pick one) opens My events: + Create event, the event lists and Pick an event. It is where an event is created, opened and, at the end, found under Archived. → Your workspace
- The Active race — the card under the switcher names the race every screen is saving for (for example D-1 · GS · Men · 0991). Change picks another race of the event; the draw, the desk, the results and the live surfaces all follow it.
The chain
- Create the event — My events › + Create event makes a blank Non-FIS event and opens it on Set up › Event info, with one race on Day 1. → 1 · Create the event
- Set it up — the event's name and venue, its race days and the races on them (discipline, gender, codex, runs); then the words on every document, the jury and course, the printing, the run sheet and the race notice. This is what every later list, sheet and live surface reads. → Event info · Set up
- Bring in the officials — invite the TD and the timer per event, and say on Event access & chat which races each may see. An invited timer gets the Timing Desk on your event; the TD gets their own door. → Invite TD · Invite Timer · Event access & chat
- Crew the days — the volunteer directory and the per-day roster, the coaches, and the event's Race Relay group everyone talks in. → Crew
- Build the field — entries arrive by email, from the FIS list, from a file or through the public forms and land on Manage Competitors, one row per competitor per race. The green tick is the roll call; publish the day to the coaches and lock it. → Manage Competitors · Who is racing
- Draw and number — per race, the draw stores a start order for the green-ticked field, Assign Bibs numbers it, Lock bibs guards the numbers, and the Run 1 start list prints and releases. → Draw — start order & bibs · Start lists
- Race morning — the pre-race checklist, Activate an event so the phones follow this event, and the live surfaces set Off, Live or Test. → Race day · Activate an event
- Time the race — per race and per run: the device connected, the light green, every impulse on a bib, Run 2 prepared from Run 1's ranking. → Timing Desk · Run 2
- Results and release — the results sheet in the race's format, printed and released to the phones, the public pages and the email list; on a FIS race the timing report, the penalty and the files to FIS. → Results · Release results
- Mark the race done — a race the timing feed finished is marked for you; any other race gets 🏁 Mark: this race has results so it opens read-only. → Mark: this race has results
- Archive the event — once every race day is done and the final checklist is green, Archive & seal closes the event: the Race Relay group closes, the timer's and TD's invitations end, the dossier stays readable under Archived events. → Archive an event
What each step unlocks
- Without a race on Event info there is no Active race, and most Set up screens show nothing.
- Without a green tick there is no draw; without a draw there is no Run 1 list on the desk; without a finished Run 1 there is no Run 2.
- Without Activate an event the phones show the previous event; without the live surfaces on Live nothing reaches the TV, the phones or the public page.
- Without official results on every race the archive button stays grey.
What success looks like
Every race of the event reads ✓ Released on its results sheet, the race dots are red in the ACTIVE RACE picker, and the event sits under Archived as a sealed dossier.
If something goes wrong
- A screen shows the wrong race or nothing at all: check the ACTIVE RACE card; most screens save per race.
- The draw says No confirmed … entries yet: nobody is green-ticked, or the coaches' list is locked — see Who is racing.
- Archive & seal stays grey: an item on the final checklist is open; follow its Open in checklist ▸ link.
