What it's for

An invited timer gets full rights on this event: publish, edit entries, claim athletes, seed, export and run the Timing Desk. They only see the events you invite them to, and they are the admins of the event's Race Relay group.

The Timer card under OFFICIALS on the Set up side menu shows the state: ⚠ needed, Invite pending with the email, or ✓ and the timer's first name.

Before you start

  • The timer's name and email address.

Steps

  1. Press 1 Set up. Under OFFICIALS, press Invite on the Timer card (it reads Manage once someone is invited).
Search an existing timer, or type a name and email
    Invite a Timer
  2. Type in Search existing timers — your club's timers by name, anyone on Race Bureau by their exact email — and pick the match. Otherwise type Timer name and Email.
  3. Press Send invite.

Someone already on Race Bureau gets an email and a note in their account, and has access once they accept. A new email gets a link to sign up, then accept.

What success looks like

The Timer card reads Invite pending until they accept, then ✓ with their first name; the timer sees the event in their own event list and can open the Timing Desk on it.

If something goes wrong

  • The timer should not see one of the races: untick it under Event access & chat › PEOPLE INVITED TO THIS EVENT and press Save races.
  • You time the race yourself: no invitation is needed. The account that created the event already has the Timing Desk.
