Who is racing — the roll call from entry to draw
The one chain that decides who is drawn: the list goes to the coaches, the coaches claim and answer, the organiser fills the gaps, the green tick is final.
What it's for
Every competitor row on Manage Competitors ends up with one of three marks: a green tick (racing), a pale tick (nobody has said) or a cross (withdrawn). Only green is drawn. This page is the whole chain that gets a row from "entered" to green, in the order it happens before the team captains' meeting. Each step has its own page with the exact clicks.
The chain
- The entries arrive — by email to the club's entries address, from the FIS list, from a file, or through the public entry form. Every row starts pale. → Manage Competitors
- The organiser publishes the day to the coaches — Publish list to coaches, then 📣 Notify coaches posts "the list is ready" into the Coaches chat. → Notify coaches and lock the list
- Each coach claims their racers on the phone — Race Relay › Your athletes: tap ✓ Mine, then Racing or Not racing per athlete (per race when the event has several). Racing puts the green tick on the row; Not racing takes it off. A claim alone is not a tick. → Your athletes · Coach
- The organiser sees what the coaches see — Coach view shows the day exactly as a coach has it; Crew › Un-claimed athletes lists every racer no coach has claimed, so you can chase the coach before the meeting. → Coach view · Un-claimed athletes
- Gaps are filled by hand — open the row (Modify competitor) and set COACH, or 🏢 Claim for the ROC to put the athlete under the race office; tick or cross the row yourself. → Modify competitor
- Final check at the meeting — the organiser or timer runs down the list: ✓ Tick all then untick the no-shows, or cross out a withdrawal with ✕. The timer's cross outranks a coach's Racing. Then 🔒 Lock the list so the coaches' view is final. → The green tick
- The draw counts green only — pale rows are not drawn; the run 1 start list and the counts on the rail read the same tick. → Draw — start order & bibs
What success looks like
Before the draw, every row is green or crossed, nothing is pale, Un-claimed athletes is empty or every name on it has been dealt with, and the day reads Published · locked.
If something goes wrong
- A coach says they answered but the row is pale: the day was not published for that race, or they claimed without answering Racing. Check Coach view.
- A row stays green after a withdrawal: cross it on Manage Competitors; the cross wins over the coach's answer.
- The draw count is lower than the entries: it counts green ticks only — see The green tick.
