Update FIS points
Refresh every competitor's points on the Active race from the loaded FIS list, with the other gender and a FIS Biographies check as options.
What it's for
Points change when FIS publishes a new list, usually the night before a race. This press rewrites the points columns of the Active race from the list that is loaded. It runs on a published and locked list, because it changes numbers, not who is on the list.
Before you start
- The list you want loaded and set active under FIS points list.
Steps
- Open Entries › Update FIS points. The Update FIS points dialog names the race it updates (Updates the current race automatically — Day 1 · GS · Men · 0991).
This race, the other gender if you tick it, and the Biographies check - Tick Both genders racing today to update the other gender's race on the same day as well.
- Tick Include checking against the FIS Biographies to settle anyone not on the list against the FIS website. It is a live check and takes a while; anyone settled this way is tagged Source: Biography.
- Press ✓ Update from FIS, then Close.
What success looks like
The points columns on Manage Competitors match the loaded list, and the warning possibly outdated under the counters is gone once the current list is loaded.
If something goes wrong
- Points did not change: the loaded list is the one you already had. Load the current one under FIS points list first.
- A competitor still has no points: they are not on the list under that code. Check the code in Modify competitor.
