Live draw wall
The draw shown live on a big screen at the team captains' meeting and on the phones, as each bib is drawn.
What it's for
The live draw wall shows the draw as it happens: on a monitor in the meeting room, on a spectator's own computer and on the phones in Race Relay. It is pinned to the event, not to the club, because a draw happens the evening before any timing. The screen's address is /live/draw/<event id>; add ?mode=room for the meeting-room monitor (bigger, fewer columns, the field in pages).
Only two live draws can run at a time across the platform; the draw screen tells you when the limit is reached.
Before you start
- The field green-ticked on Manage Competitors (only green-ticked racers are drawn).
- The event's public board switched on (TBC: the exact switch the draw screen is gated on).
Steps
- Open Bibs & start lists › Draw for the race (the ACTIVE RACE).
- Press 🖥 Display ▾. Set 📅 Live draw at to the time the draw starts; racebureau.live and the club's pages then say Next live draw until it does. Leave it empty and nothing is announced.
- Press ⚙ List fields ▾ to choose which fields the wall shows, on the phones, the big screen and the public page, and what each is called.
- Open the draw address on the meeting-room screen.
- Press 🎲 Live draw on the Display menu. The screen and the phones follow each bib as it is drawn.
- When the draw is complete, switch 🎲 Live draw off. With AUTO UPLOAD on, the start list goes to the boards by itself; with MANUAL UPLOAD, press ⬆ UPLOAD.
What success looks like
Each drawn bib appears on the wall and on the phones within seconds, and the start list is on the boards once the draw is switched off.
If something goes wrong
- The wall shows a different race: the screen follows the ACTIVE RACE unless
?race=pins one. Change the active race, or pin it. - Only two live draws at a time: switch another race's live draw off first.
