Clear chat
Empty one Race Relay group's messages, or every chat at the start of a season — nobody leaves, nothing released is lost.
What it's for
Clearing a chat empties the messages and posted documents out of a Race Relay group so the next event starts on an empty thread. Nobody leaves the group — volunteers, coaches and jury keep their access and nobody re-scans a QR code — and released official results are kept. It cannot be undone.
The door opens the Race-day groups screen; each group has its own 🧹 Clear chat, and 🧹 Start of season clears every chat at once.
Before you start
- Anything you want to keep from last season exported from the group's Record first.
Steps
- Open Race day › Clear chat. The Race-day groups screen opens.
One card per group; Clear chat sits inside the card - Press › on the group's card to open it.
- Press 🧹 Clear chat, then press it again when it asks — the second press clears.
- To clear every chat — the race-day groups, each race's public chat and Timing — press 🧹 Clear every chat under 🧹 Start of season, then again to confirm.
What success looks like
The group's thread in the Race Relay app is empty, its member count is unchanged, and released results are still listed under documents.
If something goes wrong
- The door opened on the groups screen and you cannot find the button: open the group card with › — 🧹 Clear chat is inside it, under the members line.
