Volunteers
Your club's people directory: who you can call on, their contact details and the positions they do.
What it's for
Volunteers is the club's directory of people: everyone you can call on, with their nation, contact details and the positions they usually fill (Chief of Race, Referee, Gate judge, Timer and so on). The Volunteer roster and the Header's name boxes pick from this list, and people who sign up through the public link are added to it.
The directory is saved per club and shared with the timer running your event. It is never shown to another club.
Before you start
- An event open. Crew opens on this screen.
Steps
- Open Crew. The screen opens on Volunteers with the line N volunteers in your directory.
One row per person: name, nation, contact, positions - To add a person, fill in Name, NAT, Club, Email and Phone under + ADD A VOLUNTEER and press Add. Only the name is needed.
- To give a person a position, type it in the + position box on their row and pick from the list (or type your own). Remove a position with the ✕ on its chip.
- To change a person's details, press ✎ on the row, edit, and press Enter.
- To see only one position, choose it under Show position (default All positions).
- To message a person, press Notify (sends into the Race Relay group chosen under Invite into) or WA (opens WhatsApp with their number).
- To remove a person from the directory, press the ✕ at the end of the row.
What success looks like
Every official and helper you rely on is in the directory with an email or phone, and the positions on their rows match what they do, so the roster's Search people… boxes find them.
If something goes wrong
- A person is in the list twice: remove one row with ✕; roster assignments stay with the row that is left.
- Notify sends nothing: the person needs to be in a Race Relay group first (see Groups).
