Submit to FIS
Build the results XML and the timing report XML for a race, check the gates, and email them to FIS — then record FIS's acceptance.
What it's for
FIS takes a race's results and its timing report as XML files by email. Submit to FIS builds both for the active race, shows whether each is ready, and sends them to the FIS results address in one email or one at a time. Every send is logged. The ICR asks the TD to oversee the electronic transmission of the timing report files and to check the results on the FIS website afterwards (FIS ICR Book IV, Alpine, art. 601.4.9.3, May 2025).
The three rows at the top — Results file, FIS penalty, Timing report — are where you record FIS's reply.
Before you start
- Official Results released on Results.
- The Timing report saved for the race.
- The TD's word that the race is approved.
Steps
- Open Results & publish › Submit to FIS. Race names the active race.
The race, the acceptance rows and Check / build - Press Check / build. The panel builds the files and shows a gate per file — Results XML ready, Official Results posted in Race Bureau — with View to read each XML.
- Check FIS email. It is the FIS results address by default; change it and press Save only if FIS tells you to.
- Press Send both (or Send results only / Send timing report only). The button turns red and names the file and the inbox — press it again to send. Cancel backs out.
- When FIS replies, press Accepted by FIS on Results file and Timing report, and type the penalty FIS confirmed under FIS penalty › from FIS's reply.
What success looks like
The reply line names the FIS inbox and the files sent, the three rows read Accepted by FIS once FIS confirms, and the archive checklist's FIS item can be ticked.
If something goes wrong
- Send both is grey: one of the files is not built. The gates say which — release the official results, or save the timing report.
- Set ACTIVE RACE in the header above: pick the race; results and the timing report are sent per race.
- FIS rejects the file: fix the race, release again, press Check / build and send again. The log keeps every send.
