Race Relay and Race Bureau
How the phone app and the platform fit together: one event, one record, and who is in which group.

What it's for
Race Bureau is the platform the club works in. Race Relay is the phone app everyone else carries — coaches, volunteers, officials, athletes, parents and spectators. They are not two systems: Race Relay shows what the workspace holds, for the race the phone has picked.
One record
- The event, its races, the run sheet, the start lists, the results and the official documents exist once, in the workspace.
- What the organiser releases reaches the phone: the confirmed run sheet, day records and official documents land on the Docs tab; the Program tab follows the run sheet (officials, start times, inspection and forerunner times); the Live tab shows the race the moment the timer streams it.
- Nothing is typed into the phone app separately. If a time or a document is wrong, it is fixed in the workspace and the phone follows.
The four tabs on the phone
- Chats — the club's groups and your direct messages.
- Live — live timing for the race picked in the race bar at the top.
- Docs — run sheets, records and official documents, per race or All races.
- Program — the day's programme for the picked event.
The race bar (‹ GS · M · 0991 ›, with RACES ▾) picks which race the Live and Docs tabs show.
Who is in which group
Every club has standing groups, and every event gets its own group:
- ROC / Jury — the organising committee and the jury. Official documents and messaging for the jury happen here.
- Coaches — every coach the club approved.
- Volunteers — the volunteer roster.
- The event group (named after the event, for example Demo Cup — Snowline Peak) — a chat for this event only, like a WhatsApp group. Invited timers are its admins. When the event is archived the group closes and everyone leaves it, but they stay on the club list, so joining the next event is one tap.
- Public · Spectators — shared updates, read-only for the public. Official documents never go here.
The organiser manages the groups under Crew › RaceRelay groups & members (invite link, members, clear chat) and the event group under Set up › Event access & chat. People join by the group's invite link (also sent from the roster by WhatsApp or Copy link), by QR code, or by asking to join a listed club through Find a club in the app.
What success looks like
Everyone who needs the day's information has Race Relay on their phone, is in the right group, and sees the same run sheet, start lists and results the workspace holds.
