Clubs and event groups
One group per event, closed when the event is archived; you stay on the club's list for next time.
What it's for
Each event has one Race Relay group, named after the event. The club sets it up and shares its QR code or link; people join it for that event and leave when it is over. There are no club-wide groups that run all year.
How it works
- One group per event. The group is created when the club activates the event (or first posts something to it: a released list, a run sheet, a notice).
- When the event is archived the group closes. Nobody can post or join, and its links stop working.
- You stay on the club's list. Everyone who was in the group is remembered by the club. When the club opens its next event's chat, Chats shows a band: <Club> opened a chat for its next event — tap to join. Nobody is added back without tapping Join.
- Official documents land in the group. A released start list, result or DQ list posts into the event's group as a document card, and into Docs.
On Chats
With one or two clubs, each club is a card: its name, the active event, the Public · Spectators row, its groups, and three buttons: 🔔 Mute club, ◎ Focus, Leave…. With three or more clubs the screen is My clubs; tap a club to see its chats.
- 🔔 Mute club silences every ping from that club on this phone: chats, documents, coach and join requests. Chats then shows 🔕 <Club> is muted on this phone until you Unmute.
- ◎ Focus puts one club on Home for the event: the race bar steps through that club's races and the other clubs go quiet (untick Quiet the other clubs while focused to keep them). Unfocus when the event is done; the app offers it once the club's last race has finished.
Leaving
- Leave the event — long-press the event group, tap 🚪 Leave group, confirm Leave. You leave the group on every phone you own and stay on the club's list.
- Leave the club — tap Leave… on the club card, then Tap again — leaves ALL <club> groups here. This leaves every group of that club on this phone.
- Come off the club's list — open the band or
/app/clubs(Your clubs) and tap Remove me from this club's list. The club will no longer offer you its next event.
What success looks like
The club card shows the event's name and its group. After the event is archived the group is gone from Chats and the club is still listed under Your clubs.
