What it's for

Race Relay is the race-day app on your phone. You join a club's event group from a QR code or a link, the way you would join a group chat. There is no account to create first and no password.

Steps

  1. Scan the QR code the club shares, or open its link on your phone. The link looks like …/join/CR9x7t2K.

  2. Enter your Name and Email. Phone is optional. A coach also gives a Nation, and may add a Club and a Coaching business / team.
  3. Tap Sign up & join (or Join).
  4. The screen says One more step — we've emailed you a link. Open it on this phone. Open the email on the same phone and tap its link.
  5. Tap Yes — confirm my email. The screen says Email confirmed.
  6. Tap Open RaceRelay. You land on Chats with the event group open to you.

If this phone has joined before, the join screen says Nothing to fill in and shows the details it knows. Tap Join <group> as <name>. If a detail is wrong, open Not you, or a detail has changed? and correct it first. If you are already in the group it says You're already set up; tap Add me to this race.

Other ways in

  • Someone sent you a link by text or email and you are already in the app: on Chats tap ＋ Add a ROC (paste invite link), paste the link, tap Connect.
  • Your club opened a chat for its next event and you were in its last one: a blue band at the top of Chats says <Club> opened a chat for its next event — tap to join. Tap it, then Join.
  • A club with a public chat: on Chats tap 🔎 Join another ROC and pick the club. For a coaches group the club approves you first (they approve).

What success looks like

The event group is on Chats with its messages, the race bar shows the club's next race, and Docs and Program show that event.

If something goes wrong

  • Link not valid — the link has expired or been revoked (links last 90 days from when the club last handed them out). Ask the organiser for a fresh one.
  • Check your email and nothing arrives — tap Email me the link again. Open it on the phone you joined from, not on a computer.
  • Access blocked — the organiser has blocked this phone from that group.
  • That mobile number already belongs to another account — use the email of that account instead.
