Who does what
Organiser, timer, Technical Delegate, coach, volunteer, athlete or parent, spectator: what each does and where they work.
What it's for
Every person around a race has one place to work. This page says which place is yours.
The roles
Organiser Organiser — the club's race office. Creates the event, sets it up, invites the officials, builds the field, draws the bibs, prints the sheets, runs race day and releases the results. Works in the workspace: the seven steps on the rail, plus Inbox, Members and Settings. See Your workspace.
Timer Timer — times the race. Works on the Timing Desk (step 6) with the timing device, and sees the whole event the organiser invited them to: Set up, Entries, Bibs & start lists, Timing Desk, Results. A club can time its own races, or invite a timer under Set up › Invite Timer. See Timing Desk.
Technical Delegate Technical Delegate — appointed to the event by the organiser under Set up › Invite TD. Works through the FIS Technical Delegate door of their own account: race information, competitor management, run sheet, pre-race checklist, documents, jury minutes, reports and records. Read-only on the archived event afterwards. See Technical Delegate.
Coach Coach — joins the club in Race Relay by invite link, QR code or Find a club, claims their athletes, follows the live timing, the documents and the programme, and chats in the Coaches group. One coach can sit on several clubs. See Race Relay › Coach.
Volunteer Volunteer — signs up for a job and sees the plan for the day in Race Relay's Volunteers group. The organiser runs the roster under Crew › Volunteers. See Crew › Volunteers.
athlete Athlete or parent — enters through the club's entry link or entry form, joins or renews as a member on the club's own join page, and follows the race on Phone live or the public page. No workspace account is needed. See Members.
Spectator Spectator — opens Public live or the Live display at the hill, or the club's public page, and reads the Public · Spectators chat in Race Relay. Nothing to sign in to. See Live surfaces and public pages.
One account, more than one job
A person's account can hold more than one door — Race Bureau (the club's workspace) and FIS Technical Delegate (Alpine Ski). When it holds more than one, signing in asks Where are you working today?; with one door you land straight in it. Inside a club's account, what each user sees is set per step under Settings › Team & access › Access levels (Off or On); the Timer level switches the organising steps off, the ROC level switches the timing steps off. See Access levels.
